SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Mount Vernon Nazarene University topped Point Park University women's soccer, 3-0, on day two of the Cougar Classic in Spring Arbor, Mich. Saturday.

The Pioneers (0-2) put up a fight, but the Cougars (2-1) struck first in the 17th minute.

Point Park held MVNU to one goal heading into halftime, but the Cougars came out of the locker room and scored another goal in the 47th minute to make the score, 2-0.

A goal in the 65th minute made the score, 3-0, and the Pioneers could not get past the MVNU defense.

The Cougars out-shot the Pioneers, 20-8, and held a 6-1 corner kick advantage.

Ashtyn Webb (SO/London, Ohio) got her second start in goal for the Pioneers, stopping seven of the 10 shots she faced.

Point Park heads back to Michigan for a nonconference game against Madonna University Sept. 11. Game time is 4 p.m., and live video is available at portal.stretchinternet.com/madonna.
