PITTSBURGH – Point Park University volleyball has added 12 players to the program for its 2017 recruiting class. The Pioneers are welcoming eight transfers and four freshmen to the team for the upcoming season. The incoming transfers include six from the junior college ranks, one from NAIA and one from NCAA Division II. The four freshmen played in high school last year.

"Our recruiting class brings a great deal of athleticism, experience and quality depth to our roster," said Mike Bruno, who is entering his 13th year as Pioneers head coach. "With the addition of these 12 young ladies, and a larger roster than recent years, our training gym promises to be a highly competitive environment.  This is a strong formula to help propel our program to take the next step in the national tournament."

Point Park is coming off a 2016 season in which it was 20-15 overall and 15-1 River States Conference. The Pioneers won the RSC regular season championship to earn an automatic bid to the NAIA Volleyball National Championship Opening Round.
